Texas Adult Drivers Ed

An Online Texas Adult Driver Education course contains nine modules plus a final exam, for a total of 6 hours of online instruction. Each online chapter is followed by a short, multiple-choice quiz.   You will have three attempts to successfully complete the final exam.  The adult drivers ed class final exam consists of 30 questions – 15 regarding road signs and 15 regarding traffic laws.  The best part about taking your Texas adult drivers education course online is that the final exam is the DPS written exam! That means once you pass the course you can immediately go to a DPS licensing office in your area and present your certificate of completion (DPS form ADE-1317) and apply for your driver’s license!

IMPORTANT: Although completing an online adult drivers ed class allows you to skip the TX DPS written exam, you are still going to be required to pass both your vision test and a behind-the-wheel driving test when you go to the TX DPS to apply for your Texas driver’s license.
